Phare, The Cambodian Circus

A small production similar to Cirque du Soleil, Phare is a unique entertainment event in Siem Reap. More than just a circus, Phare performers use the mediums of theater, dance, music and modern circus arts to tell historical, folk and modern Cambodian stories. Phare also empowers Cambodian youth. The circus artists are students and graduates from Phare Ponleu Selpak’s vocational training center in Battambang, a school for poor and socially deprived youth. Phare, The Cambodian Circus is an innovative social enterprise. The production offers a creative, vibrant take on Cambodia’s history through performance and art.
